Learn Arabic Language – Praise be to Allah who has given wide insight. Indeed, the favors are so great that there is no doubt and gaps as small as a mustard seed to complain.
Shalawat and greetings to the beloved Prophet Muhammad’s lord; to him love will continue to be preserved with evidence following his sunnah.
So great love of Prophet Muhammad to his ummah. Love that we can feel to this day through the noble mind noble. One of the noble minds that exemplified the Prophet Muhammad is about language.
That is why I am interested in learning Arabic. The language used to be used by the Prophet Muhammad when spreading Islam. Religion that is currently greeting our hearts through the noble morals of the Prophet Muhammad Saw.
The more details let us consider the importance of studying Arabic for social life, scholarship or for Islam itself.
7 Reasons for the Importance of Learning Arabic
1. Arabic is the language of the Qur’an
When compared with other languages, Arabic is of course no less important than other languages. Besides this language is the language used by Prophet Muhammad SAW when preaching, this language is also chosen to convey clues through the Quran.
“We have made for men in this Qur’an every kind of parable so that they may learn. (Is) the Qur’an in Arabic that there is no crook (in it) that they may be cautious. “(Surah Az-Zumar: 27-28)
Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taimiyah rahimahullah said,
“Arabic is the syi’ar of Islam and the syi’ar of the Muslims.” It is mentioned in Iqtidha ‘Shirath Al-Mustaqim.
2. Arabic Makes Us Easy to Understand Al Quran and Hadith
My second motivation to learn Arabic is the usefulness of religious knowledge for everyday life. For those of you who may have memorized the Qur’an perhaps never feel the memorization without knowing the meaning, but when memorizing and we know the meaning; certainly will be more memorable.
3. Arabic Language for More Understanding
Studying Arabic is like studying the real science because with Arabic we will know the source of science which was once written by the scholars.
This becomes very important if you as a preacher, you will need more understanding to be able to decipher the religious sciences through Nahwu Shoorof science with simple and easy to understand.
4. Digging Science from Source
One thing that is not less important is the source of science. If you have not been able to speak Arabic and only rely on translation, of course the science you can be very limited and far from perfection.
Unlike the people who learn Arabic, he will be more in digging the sciences that were made by the scholars. In that sense, if you can read us, of course it can be of more value to understand more perfectly the science of the scholars.
5. Arabic is the Most Clear and Complete Language
My lecturer once said that the longer the civilization of a language, the more complete and clear the language. And the word is evident when Arabic is the language that has the oldest civilization.
Arabic proved language that has the most complete vocabulary compared to other languages, Arabic language is more clearly in meaning (specific) so very rare there is ambiguity of meaning.
Ibn Kathir when explaining the letter of Joseph the second verse states,
“Because Arabic is the most eloquent, clearest, broadest (vocabulary) language, and contains the most placid meaning of the soul.”
6. Arabic Language Used By Good People
When I intend to learn Arabic, my mind always hope, hopefully one day can communicate directly with Rosulullah Saw …. “That I used to learn Arabic”
Ibnu Katsir rahimahullah also stated,
“Since the Qur’an is the most glorious of the books, it is revealed in the noblest language, taught to the most glorious Apostle, delivered by the most glorious angels, sent down in the most glorious place on earth, descended also in the glorious moon the month of Ramadan. From all sides of it, we can judge how noble the holy book of the Qur’an.”
“We have sent it down in the form of the Qur’an in Arabic, so that you may understand it.” (Surah Yusuf: 2)
7. Arabic is the Perfect Language
Arabic is a straight language, easy to understand and easy to use as a law for humans.
God declares himself,
“(It is) the Qur’an in Arabic that there is no crook (in it) that they may be cautious.” (Surah Az-Zumar: 28)
In another verse of love
“And verily the Qur’an is truly revealed by the Lord of the worlds, he is brought down by Ar-Ruh Al-Amin (Gabriel), into your heart (Muhammad) so that you become one of those who encourage, with clear Arabic. “(QS Asy-Syu’ara: 192-195). In Ibn Jauzi’s Zaad Al-Masiir, the Qur’an is revealed in Ar0abic, the language of the Quraysh, which everyone understands easily.
Also in another verse mentioned,
“And thus, We have derived the Qur’an as the (true) rule in Arabic.” (Surah Ar-Ra’du: 37).
Mentioned in Tafsir Al-Jalalain, Arabic is used as a law in the midst of humans. In Zaad Al-Masiir mentioned that Arabic can be used to explain the mandatory laws.
These are 7 reasons why we should learn Arabic. May Allah give us ease in understanding and mastering the science of Arabic.
