Zamhari — The free movement of goods accross national borders has been a controversial issue, some people argue that it is necessary for economic growht, whilw the other claim that it damages local industries.
Lately, most of the people are getting news about free trade. The news suddenly popular in Indonesia plus the circulation of news about the free market in ASEAN will be opened. In Indonesia, most people believe the free market can bring many benefits. On the other hand, most societies argue that a free market will only hurt them.
Most people agree because the free market can increase the quantity of a local product. Not only that, most people also assume the free market can open opportunities for cooperation between countries. A country can earn foreign exchange through import duties of export and import. Moreover, countries will be encouraged to improve the quality and quality of local products to compete overseas.
On the other hand, there are many people assume that free trade can hinder and disrupt the economic stability of the country because it is too low quality also because the price is lower. Worse yet, if a country is not ready; the country will feel dependent on the developed countries regarding products. This is of course very harmful because of its position only as a consumer.
I prefer to disagree with free trade in which only the developed countries benefit. In my opinion, a country must have its own economic system to prosper its people. As has been done by the regent Kulonprogo, people there can only buy rice from farmers Kulonprogo. So even with other products. Thus, the sirkulation of money is very fast in kulonpprogo and the farmers are very prosperous.
So, the point is why I prefer to disagree with free trade because the existing rules only favor one of the countries. So, if there is a free market, the rules of our own and of course the pioneer in our own nation.
